Fumiko NEGISHI "CAJA"

"CAJA" means a box in Spanish, and I have been using this title for my works. Every time I made boxes, I felt my mind was getting better. It seemed to be curing my heart.

Boxes are for keeping things, sometimes important things. A closed box has unimited possibilities. And when I open it, my mind begins to wonder.

Eternity and the contents of the box will be treasured and will be always there even if someone would look at them or not.

June 15 Fri. - 23 Sat. 2007	Fumiko NEGISHI(1970- ) Fumiko NEGISHI 1970 Born in Tokyo. 1993 Graduated from JOSHIBIJUTSU University. Went over to Spain and studied in COMPULTENSE University in Madrid. 1995 Got the prize in National Prints '95 at Calcografia Nacional Contest in Madrid and got the painting scholarship in Mojacar, Almeria, Spain. In 1995, 1996 Exhibition of National prints prize in Madrid. In 1997, 1999 National Prints Fair-ESTAMPA'97,'99 ( with Estiarte gallery and Caja Negra gallery in Madrid) In 2000, 2002, 2005 Generation 2000, 2002, 2005 in Caja Madrid in Madrid. In 2002 International Art Fair-ARCO 2002 (with Egan gallery) Held solo show in gallery and edition Gingko in Madrid, Egan gallery in Madrid, Gallery Toki no Wasuremono in Tokyo. At present lives and works in Madrid, Spain.
