■ Naomi OKUYA (1930-)
Naomi Okuya, born 1930 in Ishikawa Prefecture, studied at Kanazawa College of Art. He lived in Paris from 1965 to 1982. Okuya participated in a variety of art and print exhibitions across Europe, including the Paris Youth Biennale in 1965, and had solo exhibitions inside and outside of Japan. The current exhibition includes 6 large works of Okuya’s time in Paris.
Major solo exhibitions include Gallerie Le Zodiaque, Belgium (1967-1970); Climaises Ventadour, France (1971); Ginza Jiyugaoka Gallery (1982); Shokyodo Museum, Toyota; Il Tempo, Tokyo (1991); “Vowel Square” (2003) and “Nasal Vowel to Vowel” (2008) at Gallery Yume, Tokyo; “Naomi Okuya Exhibition” at Hanbara Museum, Gifu (2015).
