We are pleased to announce the publication of “My Father, Matsumoto Shunsuke” (Misuzu Shobo), a book written by Shunsuke's second son, Matsumoto Kan. In celebration of the publication, we will hold a special exhibition featuring drawings by Matsumoto Shunsuke.

“My Father, Matsumoto Shunsuke”

This book is composed of the background of the artist Matsumoto Shunsuke (1912-48), his family’s life and the social conditions of those days based on conversations, etc. of his fellow painters and the people involved lived in the same era in addition to Shunsuke’s artworks, writings and letters. The book also details the activities of his wife Teiko, fellow painters, researchers, and art dealers who devoted themselves to bringing Shunsuke's paintings to the world after his death, and is the valuable information telling how the image of Matsumoto Shunsuke was formed today. This is the latest Shunsuke's study book based on recent research results, and is an eternal biography of Matsumoto Shunsuke, filled with love for his father.
