He continued to lead the world of modern printing and brought up many talents. He died young at the age of 56, whilst working as a porfessor at Tokyo University of the Arts. His first solo exhibition was held at the Shiseido Gallery, Ginza in 1953. This catalog has been published by Shiseido as a memorial of a 15th year after KOMAI's death. The catalog includes beautiful images from the retrospective exhibition. Different from other catalogs, it emphasizes KOMAI's side as a colorist, featuring works such as monotypes and color copperplate prints. |
