Tom WESSELMANN |
Born in Ohio in 1931. Stands with Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein as one of the representative artists of Pop Art. His series "Great American Nude" that started in 1961 took pains to draw the nude as abstract and real, and combined the nude figure with mass produced goods. |
The figures from that early and representative series were drawn with simple colors, and from the 1980s were also drawn with simple lines. |
