Real name, Arman Fernandez. Born 1928 in France. Sculptor, painter, contemporary artist. Known for his works which made use of large amounts of daily items and waste. Founded Nouveau Realisme with Yves Klein and Cesar; criticized the mechanisms of the post-war consumer society with art made of waste. Arman dug beauty out of waste and the volume of mass produced goods. |
