George TICE |
Photographer. Born in New Jersey in 1938. Joined a camera club and began to take photos at the age of 14. 1959, Edward Steichen, the then-director of the MoMA Photography Department, recognized Tice's sense and selected his photos of the USS Wasp explosion for the museum collection. Tice was 20 at the time. |
Participated in many exhibitions in the US and abroad. After his solo exhibition in 1972, his works were collected in museums including the New York MoMA, Art Institute of Chicago, and the Met. From the beginning of his career he was conscious of the artistic possibilities of a photo collection and published many. |
