Sister of Fukushima Kazuo. 1948, attneded Nihon Avant Garde Artists' Club's "Modern Art Summer Course" where she met Kitadai Shozo and Yamaguchi Katsuhiro, with whom she developed a friendship and held exhibitions with in later years. 1951, with these members and other young artists, participated in the establishment of "Jikken Kobo" and became responsible for the molding sector. |
The group was named by Takiguchi Shuzo. The way the members actively introduced new methods into their own works was what drew the line between this group and their contemporaries. As a group, Jikken Kobo was active primarily in the 1950s, and even afterwards the members often worked together and continued new experiments. Passed away in 1997. |
