Born 1925 in Osaka. Graduated from the College of Economics, Ritsumeikan University. Encouraged by Shozo SHIMAMOTO, exhibited work at the 7th Ashiya Municipal Exhibition in 1954. In this exhibition gained acquaintance with Jiro YOSHIHARA, and received guidance from him. |

Became a member of Gutai in 1955 and later also became a member of the Artist Club which Taro OKAMOTO acted as the representative. Remained a member in both groups until their dissolution. Helped form the Artists’ Union in 1975. Was active as an action painter. |
