Hiroshi OSAKA |

A native of Sagae in Yamagata Prefecture, Osaka was born in 1956 and graduated in 1981 from the Department of Photography at Nihon University (Tokyo). His whimsical nude portraits have won him much praise and secured him the Grand Prix of the Japan Professional Photographers Society. This was followed by a variety of awards inside and outside of Japan. His works are held in the collections of the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, the Houston Museum of Art and others. |

Osaka has had numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions as well. One of his newer projects is the ambitious “Botany Heart” series of 2009 that explore the effects of subtle lighting on plants. |
