Claes OLDENBURG

American sculptor. Born in Stockholm as a child of a Swedish diplomat. He moved to the United States with his family in 1936. Naturalized in the United States in 1953.
He is known for his public art installations that are huge reproductions of everyday objects. In Japan there are giant saws "Saw, Sawing" in front of Tokyo Big Sight and "Lipstick" at Faret Tachikawa. |
