This is a visual poem that uses a musical score. In 2003, to commemorate the opening of "Kitazono Katsue Exhibition" at Keiyudoh Gallery in Tokyo, 21 artists collaborated on an editioned box of works called “in the spirit of Kit Kat”. After contributing No.1 of this series to the edition, I made No.2-6 right afterwards, and published the whole series in a personal edition of 46 the following year. No.1 Condensed Symphony No. 9 Final Movement (with chorus) No.2 Turbulent Gymnopedie No.3 4’33” Visualized No.4 Hey, Prelude, how long is this gonna be! No.5 Largo - infinite aria No.6 Trau- intercepted - merei As you can tell from the titles, these take existing compositions and apply transformations like condensing, warping, garbling, and anthropomorphizing, like musical jokes.
