Satoru KITAGO
Born 1953 in Fukushima, Japan. Graduated from B.F.A. in Sculpture, Tokyo Zoukei University in 1977. In 1979, graduates M.F.A. in Sculpture, Tokyo University of the Arts. Awarded the grand prize in "Tenri Biennale", held at Nara in 1983. Became an assistant professor at Niigata university in 1991. From 1996 to 1997, he stayed in Italy as a fellowship from the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Became an associate professor at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1997 (promoted to a full professor in 2006).

Awarded new comers prize at Shinseisaku exhibition in 1980 and 1982. Held one-man exhibitions at Gallery Seiho (Ginza, Tokyo) in 1991, 1993, 1998, 2001, 2008 and at Gallery Toki no Wasuremono in 2001 and 2008. Held a retrospective exhibition in 2004 at Iwaki City Art Museum (Fukushima, Japan). In 2006, held one-man exhibition at MORIOKA First Gallery (Iwate, Japan).
