Masaji YOSHIDA
Born in Wakayama prefecture in 1917. After graduating from Western painting course in Tokyo Art School in 1941, went into military service. He exhibited at the 17th Japan Print Association Exhibition in 1949 and since then he was active at the same association and the Modern Art Association. The abstract woodcraft with lyricism was highly appreciated internationally, and won the first prize of the Tokyo International Print Biennale Exhibition (Tokyo National Museum of Modern Art) in 1957.

Listed at the Ljubljana International Print Biennale Exhibition (Yugoslavia) Sao Paolo Biennale Exhibition (Brazil) etc. Since then, he won a grand prize at the 8th Hoang Miro Prize International Drawing Exhibition (Spain) in 1969. 1971, 歿. A historical exhibition was held in Wakayama Prefectural Art Museum in 1974.
