Born 1894 in Shizuoka, Japan. Dropped out from the Waseda University in 1914, He moved to the USA and studied with Yasuo KUNIYOSHI under John Sloan at the Art Students’ League. He moved to Mexico in 1923, becoming friends with artists such as David SIQUEIROS and Diego RIVERA, and participating in Mexican Renaissance movment.

He also worked on children’s art education at Tlalpan. In 1931 moves outdoor art school to Taxco and became a head master. Returned to Japan in 1936.
